Why a Moss Christmas Tree Is Reusable

Roughly 25 to 30 million real Christmas trees are sold in the United States each year, and almost all of them are discarded within a month. A cut tree is grown for years to be used for four weeks.

A preserved moss Christmas tree is bought once and used for 7 to 10 seasons. That is not a claim about saving the planet single-handedly; it is simply the arithmetic of buying one object instead of ten. Storing It Between Seasons

1. Let it sit in a dry room for a day if it has been anywhere humid — a garage or a cold porch counts as humid.
2. Blow off dust with a cool hairdryer on the lowest setting. Never brush the greenery.
3. Pack it in a rigid box, not a bag. The material is compressible, and pressure marks do not always spring back.
4. Store indoors, not in a loft or garage. Temperature swings and damp are what ruin preserved decorations between seasons, not the season itself.

Done properly, the tree that comes out next November looks the same as the one that went away.
