Solid Oak and Preserved Moss Construction

This round wood and moss wall clock combines solid European oak with genuine preserved Reindeer Moss (Iceland Moss) to deliver a balanced, organic timepiece. A vertical channel carved directly into the timber base is packed with preserved lichen that retains its soft texture through an environmentally sound stabilization process. Because this preservation treatment permanently halts plant aging, the botanical inlay requires no watering, soil, or sunlight. The surrounding oak showcases prominent annual rings, medullary rays, and authentic grain character, making every clock distinct.

The open-face dial eliminates numerical markers, allowing the natural grain of the wood and the texture of the lichen to remain the primary visual element. Sleek black aluminum hour and minute hands offer precise readability against the timber background, accented by a central brass fastener. Each clock comes in three standard diameter options: 11.8 inches (30 cm), 15.7 inches (40 cm), and 19.6 inches (50 cm), giving you flexibility for various wall sizes and layouts.

Silent Quartz Mechanism and Wall Mounting

An integrated, battery-operated quartz mechanism controls the hands with a smooth sweep motion. Unlike standard ticking clocks that produce repetitive mechanical sounds, this sweep-movement mechanism operates in absolute silence. It suits quiet bedrooms, home offices, and study rooms where concentration is essential. The quartz movement housing is recessed flush within the rear of the oak slab, allowing the clock face to sit neatly against the wall surface without tilting.

Installation is simple and requires only a single wall fastener. A sturdy metal bracket on the reverse side supports the weight of the solid timber slab securely on drywall, wood paneling, or masonry. The clock operates on one AA 1.5V battery, providing consistent timekeeping for up to a full year before requiring a quick battery change.

Material Specifications and Care Guidelines

Preserved moss features natural antistatic properties, repelling ambient dust under standard household conditions. For long-term preservation, hang the clock in an interior space with a relative humidity level between 40% and 70%. Avoid placing the clock directly above heat sources, in excessively damp bathrooms, or in direct, intense sunlight, as excessive heat can dry the preserved lichen over time. Occasional light dusting with a soft duster keeps the timber and moss looking fresh.
