Natural Wood Dial with Preserved Reindeer Moss Radial Inlays

This round wooden wall clock with preserved reindeer moss integrates biological texture directly into a functional timepiece. The dial face features precision-cut radial slots radiating from the central axis, exposing a dense layer of preserved reindeer moss (Iceland Moss) beneath the finished surface. Natural light wood grain runs across the solid surface, providing an organic background for the geometric cutout pattern. Slim black metal hour, minute, and second hands provide high-contrast legibility across the textured face.

The botanical component consists of authentic lichen preserved through an organic mineral salt and glycerin solution. This preservation process permanently halts plant growth while locking in moisture, color, and structural softness without requiring soil, sunlight, or irrigation. The moss will not wilt, shed, or produce pollen, making it completely hypoallergenic and anti-static so it naturally repels household dust.

Silent Quartz Movement and Specifications

Every clock is fitted with an integrated silent sweep quartz mechanism located on the rear panel. Unlike traditional stepped movements, this mechanism operates without audible ticking sounds, making it suitable for quiet office environments, conference spaces, and bedrooms. A recessed mounting bracket is centered on the reverse side for secure, flush hanging against standard drywall screws or picture hooks.

Acoustic Texture and Functional Installation

The three-dimensional volume of preserved lichen acts as a natural sound-dampening surface, dispersing high-frequency ambient reflections in minimalist rooms with hard flooring or bare walls. Because every tree section contains individual variations in grain density, rings, and natural color tone, each clock displays distinct visual characteristics across the wooden dial.

  • Zero maintenance requirements: No watering, misting, trimming, or specialized plant lighting needed.
  • Indoor humidity tolerance: Maintains optimal texture at normal indoor humidity levels between 40% and 70%.
  • Direct wall mount: Built-in rear hanger allows quick installation on standard wall anchors.
