Forest Landscape Moss Wall Art with Branches

Composition and Botanical Components of the Moss Wall Art

The Forest Landscape Moss Wall Art with Branches forms a three-dimensional wall element constructed from natural forest components. The base consists of dried and preserved forest and flat moss, upon which convex bun moss cushions and preserved reindeer moss are precisely fixed. Interspersed are dried, hand-selected natural branches, with their ramifications extending diagonally across the moss surface. Each piece is created on a dimensionally stable support board made of wood-based material, which prevents warping due to fluctuating humidity. The varying cushion heights of the bun moss create a relief structure with a total height between 40 and 80 millimeters.

The botanical components undergo a multi-week preservation process based on water, salt, and glycerin. This process replaces the plant’s natural sap flow without damaging cell walls. As a result, bun and flat moss retain their original softness and forest-green coloration for years. Biological regrowth does not occur. Because the cell structures are inactive, the wall art requires no soil, light sources, or moisture spraying. The surfaces largely repel household dust, minimizing cleaning effort.

Sound Absorption and Building Physics Properties

Due to its dense fiber structure, the moss wall art functions as an acoustic damper for interior spaces. Sound waves in the frequency range between 250 and 4000 hertz penetrate the porous network and are converted into thermal energy through friction of air molecules against the flexible plant fibers. Specifically, reverberation times in rooms with hard sound-reflecting surfaces, such as exposed concrete, large glass fronts, or smooth plaster, can be noticeably reduced. Speech intelligibility during phone calls and meetings is improved.

The ensemble passively reacts to the surrounding room climate. An optimal state is maintained at a relative humidity of 40 to 70 percent. If this value temporarily falls below 40 percent due to winter heating, the moss cushions temporarily lose elasticity but do not break with careful handling. If room humidity returns to the normal range, the moss absorbs ambient moisture and regains its supple texture. Use in direct proximity to wood-burning stoves or convectors should be avoided.

Technical Specifications Overview

Installation Instructions and Scope of Delivery

The solid wood frame provides a torsion-resistant enclosure for the support board. Integrated hanging points on the back allow for both portrait and landscape orientation. Corresponding mounting anchors are included in the scope of delivery.

• Hanging: Flexible installation via integrated heavy-duty fittings on the frame’s reverse side.
• Lighting: Suitable for windowless interiors; artificial LED lighting does not affect preservation.
• Scope of delivery: 1 wall art piece in the selected size, including wall mounting hardware (anchors and screws).
