Round Mirror with Reindeer Moss – Nature Edition

Architectural Wall Decor: Round Mirror with Reindeer Moss

The round mirror with reindeer moss (Iceland Moss) combines a circular glass surface with an outer ring of preserved botanical lichen. Mounted within an ash or oak wooden base, this piece functions as acoustic moss wall art that reflects light across interior rooms. The preserved greenery requires zero watering, soil, or sunlight, retaining its structure without routine maintenance. Placed in entryways, dining rooms, or commercial offices, the composition adds tactile depth to flat wall surfaces.

Circular wall art breaks up the rigid lines common in modern interior construction. The deep moss texture softens ambient room echoes while the central reflection creates a sense of greater volume in smaller layouts. Across different lighting conditions, the three-dimensional lichen tufts catch directional lighting, framed cleanly within a protective wooden perimeter spanning 4 to 10 inches (10 to 25 cm) in moss border width depending on diameter.

Preservation Technology and Interior Placement

The lichen undergoes an ecological preservation bath that replaces natural water content with a biodegradable glycerin-salt compound. This stabilization ensures the reindeer moss remains pliable and tactile for 7 to 10 years without misting or fertilization. The preserved moss is static-resistant, non-toxic, and hypoallergenic, preventing the accumulation of airborne dust while naturally deterring pests.

For optimal preservation, install the mirror away from continuous direct sun exposure, intense halogen heat, or direct airflow from HVAC heating registers. In dry indoor air falling below 40% humidity, moss textures may stiffen temporarily; ambient moisture normalization restores original softness automatically. Clean the glass surface using standard glass cleaner applied directly to a microfiber cloth, avoiding liquid contact with the surrounding moss ring.
