Handcrafted XXL Moss Wall Art with Reindeer Moss
This large-scale XXL moss wall art with reindeer moss provides an expansive architectural focal point for spacious residential and commercial interiors. Built with genuine preserved reindeer moss (Iceland moss), each circular piece is hand-assembled onto a solid moisture-resistant backing board. Diameters range from 39.3 inches (100 cm) up to 59.1 inches (150 cm), giving the installation enough presence to anchor high-ceiling living rooms, corporate reception halls, and open-plan offices.
The circular exterior frame is constructed from real ash wood and comes in four distinct finishes: Natural Wood, Wooden Black, Wooden White, and Wooden Dark Brown. Inside the frame, dense clusters of preserved lichen create a three-dimensional topography with natural depth. Color options include classic Green, Spring Green, Medium Green, Blue, Red, and Yellow, allowing precise alignment with your interior palette.
Acoustic Sound Absorption and Technical Data
The spongy, porous cellular structure of preserved reindeer moss functions as an organic acoustic baffle. Sound waves enter the branched lichen florets and lose kinetic energy, which curbs reverberation and shortens flutter echo across large rooms. High ceilings and hardwood or concrete floors generate sound reflections that interfere with speech clarity. Installing a high-surface-area moss disk directly targets these harsh frequencies.

Care Guidelines and Long-Term Display Requirements
Preserved lichen is completely dormant and requires no soil, misting, or irrigation. During production, natural plant sap is replaced with a non-toxic salt-and-glycerin solution, fixing the moss in a tactile state that resists decay. Adding water will wash out the preservation compounds and compromise the texture, so the piece must remain completely dry.
Maintain an indoor relative humidity level between 40% and 60% to keep the moss soft to the touch. If ambient humidity drops below 40%, the moss fibers harden temporarily. Once humidity returns to standard indoor levels, the lichen regains its flexible spring naturally.
- Direct Sunlight: Position away from direct ultraviolet rays to prevent premature pigment fading.
- Heat Exposure: Keep a minimum clearance of 4 feet (1.2 meters) from radiators, HVAC supply vents, and working fireplaces.
- Dust Maintenance: Clean periodically using a compressed air duster on a low setting or a gentle feather duster.
- Mounting: Use heavy-duty wall anchors appropriate for the total weight of the chosen diameter size.
