Hexagon Moss Wall Art with Reindeer Moss

Hexagon Moss Wall Art with Reindeer Moss Specifications and Craftsmanship

The Hexagon Moss Wall Art with Reindeer Moss features preserved botanical lichen mounted inside a geometric timber frame. Each panel incorporates hand-selected reindeer moss (Iceland moss) clustered to create a varied, multi-toned topographical surface. The arrangement showcases distinct gradations of forest green, apple green, and moss green, creating depth across the hexagonal plane. Because the lichen undergoes a specialized preservation bath replacing plant moisture with non-toxic glycerin and mineral salts, the material remains soft to the touch without needing water, soil, or sunlight.

Natural wood framing encloses each hexagon, providing sharp contrast against the biological curves of the preserved foliage. The solid timber border stabilizes the arrangement and maintains precise 120-degree interior angles, allowing multiple units to lock visually into tessellated geometric arrangements. This construction delivers the tactile richness of living plants without the maintenance routines of conventional indoor vegetation.

Acoustic Dampening and Natural Preservation Process

Preserved reindeer moss functions as an organic acoustic buffer. The porous, branched micro-structure of lichen filaments scatters and traps high-frequency sound waves, reducing reverberation in rooms with hard surfaces like polished concrete, drywall, and glass. Installing several hexagonal panels across shared office walls or home workspaces dampens ambient chatter and echo, creating a balanced acoustic profile.

The preservation method locks the cellular structure of the lichen in stasis for 7 to 10 years under standard interior parameters. The moss does not grow, release pollen, or attract pests. To preserve the original texture and color saturation, maintain interior humidity between 40% and 60% and avoid direct ultraviolet sunlight or heating elements that exceed 77°F (25°C).

Modular Layouts and Interior Placement Options

Hexagonal geometry allows scalable wall configurations. Single panels function as concise botanical focal points, while sets of three or more assemble into honeycomb clusters, diagonal pathways, or staggered horizontal bands across open wall space. The integrated rear mounting fixtures allow flush installation directly against sheetrock, plaster, or paneled surfaces using standard wall anchors.

In private residences, these panels bring organic texture to bedrooms, living rooms, and corridors lacking natural window illumination. Commercial facilities, corporate conference rooms, reception desks, and hotel lobbies utilize these installations to integrate biophilic materials without ongoing gardening or irrigation costs.
