Round Moss Wall Art with Reindeer Moss

Preserved Reindeer Moss in a Circular Architectural Frame

The round moss wall art with reindeer moss integrates tactile botanical textures directly into interior spaces. Each piece is constructed using authentic reindeer moss (Iceland moss), specifically harvested Cladonia stellaris that undergoes a preservation bath using non-toxic salts and glycerin. This chemical process halts biological decomposition while preserving moisture content, volume, and natural cellular pliability. The lichen remains static, eliminating the need for irrigation, soil substrate, specialized pruning, or auxiliary grow lighting.

Within the circular frame profile, the lichen forms a three-dimensional topographic surface. Clusters of micro-canopies cast organic shadows that shift depending on directional lighting. Encased in a precision-milled timber rim, the panel provides a permanent natural element engineered for corporate boardrooms, hotel lobbies, medical waiting areas, and private residences.

Acoustic Dampening and Technical Specifications

Dense lichen acts as a passive sound-absorbing panel. The intricate branched fibers interrupt sound waves, effectively reducing reverberation and echo across mid-to-high conversational frequencies. This physical trait makes circular moss installations functional additions to open-plan office layouts, tiled entryways, and conference spaces with hard reflective surfaces.

The circular exterior rim is milled from solid wood and sanded smooth to secure the structural backing plate. Integrated heavy-duty mounting hardware on the reverse side allows flush installation against standard drywall studs or masonry fasteners.

Indoor Environmental Parameters and Care Guidelines

Preserved reindeer moss responds hydroscopically to ambient room moisture. Maintaining indoor relative humidity levels between 40% and 70% preserves optimal tactile softness. When ambient humidity drops below 35%, individual branch tips temporarily stiffen. They regain original elasticity automatically once baseline humidity levels normalize, requiring no manual spraying or misting.

• Zero Irrigation Required: Do not water; liquid moisture damages the glycerin preservation matrix.
• Extended Service Life: Maintains color stability and structural integrity for 7 to 10 years in indoor settings.
• Light Exposure: Engineered solely for interior display; avoid continuous direct sunlight to prevent premature dye fading.
• Hypoallergenic Composition: Generates no airborne pollen, requires no fertilization, and naturally repels surface dust.

Because the plants are entirely non-vegetative, they do not produce allergens, mold spores, or chemical off-gassing. The circular form breaks up linear drywall expanses while adding structural greenery that remains consistent across all seasons.
