Handcrafted Botanical Framing and Composition

This Moss Mirror with Reindeer Moss and Plants integrates preserved natural elements directly around high-grade reflection glass. The perimeter features hand-assembled reindeer moss (Iceland Moss) in forest green, spring green, and light cream sections. Real preserved fern fronds extend outward from the upper corner, while trailing green foliage drapes naturally down the inner mirror edge to produce a multi-layered botanical border.

The organic textures soften rigid interior architecture without occupying usable floor area. Each mirror is mounted on a rigid moisture-resistant backer, keeping the profile clean and frameless. Glass edges remain protected beneath the dense lichen perimeter.

Zero-Care Natural Foliage Preservation

The botanical elements undergo an eco-friendly preservation process substituting plant sap with natural glycerin and food-grade dyes. The moss and ferns retain their natural tactile softness and deep coloration for 7 to 10 years without water, misting, or soil. Zero sunlight is necessary, allowing placement in windowless corridors, entryways, and powder rooms.

Preserved reindeer moss also functions as a passive acoustic diffuser. The open cellular structure absorbs sound reverberation across mid-to-high frequencies, reducing echo in tiled rooms or minimalist hallways.

Installation and Environmental Guidelines

Mounting this preserved wall piece requires basic hardware matched to your wall type, such as drywall anchors or masonry screws.

Humidity requirements: Keep indoor relative humidity between 40% and 70% to preserve lichen flexibility.
Climate control: Position away from direct heat sources, radiators, and active air conditioning drafts.
Sunlight exposure: Avoid direct, persistent ultraviolet sunlight to prevent color fading.
Glass cleaning: Spray glass cleaner onto a microfiber cloth rather than spraying the mirror directly to prevent liquid contact with moss edges.
